Unitarian Universalists
tend to be very social people, and members of our Fellowship
are no exception. The Fellowship Committee plans activities
and events throughout the year that bring everyone together
for a good time or that appeal to specific interests.
Our regular get togethers
seem to revolve around food and lively conversation. They include
- Brown Baggers: A monthly lunchtime
meeting of UUFW women
- Lunch Bunch: A potluck lunch,
often with a speaker, that is open to anyone
- Circle 8 Dinners: Participating
members in groups of 8 rotate hosting monthly dinners in their
homes.
UUFW
members who share the same interests often get together for organized
hikes, bike rides, and trips; as well as outings to the theater,
concerts, and children's events. The photo at right is from a
beautiful fall hike in the Shenandoah National Park.
Our special events include a fall wine
and cheese party, holiday celebrations, and a spring picnic. At
our 2004 Halloween costume party (below), it was impossible to
tell who was having the most fun--children or adults!

In the end, social activities and planned
events are more than just opportunities to have fun together.
They are an important part of the religious framework within which
congregation members strengthen their bonds with each other and
embrace newcomers.
