"Wholeness and Family Life" - Rev. Ed Piper

Much—perhaps too much—has been written and spoken about "family values." What does this mean in the context of the Unitarian Universalist faith tradition? Immediately following this service, Ed Piper and Fran Clark will meet over a free lunch with parents and other interested adults, using Michelle Richards’ book Tending the Flame as a guide for our discussion.

Announcements  

Inclement Weather Policy  - If any activity that appears on the UUFW monthly calendar is cancelled due to inclement weather, the outgoing message on the Fellowship’s answering machine will announce this. If the President, in consultation with the minister, decides to cancel a Sunday service, he will also initiate the Fellowship’s phone tree (through the Caring Network). We will also send an e-mail to those for whom we have addresses. When in doubt call the Fellowship phone number, 540-942-5507.

We are still collecting for the Verona Food Bank - can goods and other non-perishables as well as winter clothing all sizes. If a box is not in the entry way of the Fellowship please bring them to the RE building and see Fran Clark.

The Adult Religious Education Class, "The Pursuit of Happiness" – meets again on Feb 8 and 22 . Ed Piper will  lead this class based on Jonathan Haidt's book, The Happiness Hypothesis. Folks who attend this first session will decide about the scheduling of future sessions. The World Religious class previously scheduled for this time will be rescheduled later in the spring.

The Third Sunday Potluck Lunch will be February 19th. Our theme will be "Romance" with Food Plan C: A-G main dish, H-M dessert or bread, N-Z vegetable or salad. Remember to bring enough to feed at least 8 people and please be faithful to the above noted category.

Next Parent Group meeting will be Sunday Feb 5th following service at 12:30. Lunch will be provided as well as childcare.  Please let Fran know if you plan to attend.
